The weather conditions are rather bizarre lately. At first, it’s dead hot and the next thing you know, it starts to drizzle. Unexpected downpours in the metro always get me down especially if I’m out of the house. It can be a real downer when the rain causes much traffic. What's even worse is that Public transportations can be very tricky. And you have to constantly rub elbows with some other passengers just to secure a seat. Taking a cab can be stressful since Non-airconditioned taxis are hard to find and those that are mostly available are air-conditioned cabs which are undeniably an expensive means of transportation.
To make the matter terrible is that Davao is literally submerged in water (which causes traffic all over the metro)! Try treading the streets of San Pedro, Quirino and along Gmall to understand the floodmania occurrence. And while treading these streets, try singing the song; “why does it always rain on me?” and this will surely make you want to just curl up in bed and wish that you were stuck at home instead!
Whenever it starts to rain unexpectedly, I instantly think of Climate Change and it reverts me back to my environmental science days. Whenever it starts to rain, I ask myself, “Where are the good old days where the sun bragged about its eternal sunshine?”
Are rainy days here to stay? I hope not!
