Bumming around

After our August trip, I was more than willing to do some interestingly new things. However, I seem to be out of my zone these days. I am spacing out mostly. I easily grow tired of doing things. And being an internet afficionado as I am, it' s hard to believe that I no longer find it that appealing to religiously log on every night to check and make updates on some of my social network accounts and so with my cyber blogs. More so, I find it so tedious to check on youtube and watch some korean, japanese or chinese series or movies. Needless to say, I need to charge up.

A week ago, I was particularly craving for some good and yummy desserts. I made some frequent stop-overs at Sugar Munch (in Marfori), Cecil's and Margie's Bakeshop along Torres Street. I sinfully gave in to my cravings and watched the whole season 1 of the series "The Mentalist" til' the wee hours of the morning.

I'm just happy that I was able to do my dvd marathon thing again because it has been ages since I felt this excited about watching an american series. My sleepless nights were totally worth it. Perhaps, before this week ends, I will be able to buy some good and exciting series leaning towards light comedy mixed with a bit of suspense or some spy stuff or perhaps, some dramatic and unconventional investigative murder stories. Hopefully, i'll get hold off Lie to Me, Chuck (recent Season), Dexter, Supernatural, Knight Rider, Fringe and a lot more.

UPDATES

I haven't had the luxury of time to blog for more than a month now. I was just too busy juggling school and work stuff. I have been busy with working on some new projects for the bank and trying to fix some timetables/schedules before i head off to a much deserved vacay this August. Hopefully, all projects will be good to go before the end of August. Also, I am looking forward for my Appraisal come September. Somehow, I just love to cook up new projects for work and it seems that i am motivated to bring about good and innovative changes.

Things are falling into place. Friendship has been restored and that there are no more in-between pauses. The storm has passed and all things are anew. Things have been resolved and I am grateful for that.
A good surprise has kept me smiling these days! An unexpected yet very good surprise... My very own leap of faith for school and work.

As for school, academic life is taking a toll on me but I am happy that it has given me much perspective about things, in general. Deadlines, surprise quizzes, reports and case analysis are fastly becoming my favorite things to look forward to. Not to mention the Saturday gimmik nights I have with my grad classmates are more than enough to keep me at the edge of my seat. No more lonely Saturday nights, that's for sure!

Family's always good and I am happy for all this! I am happy and I guess, I deserve all these...

It just keeps getting better and better!

Celebrations!

1. June 18 - Happy Birthday Mama Phoebe!

More than anything else, having you as a parent completes me most.
Your quiet strength and soothing words are more than enough for me, Ate and Papa (plus Bro and Riel)...
We will always be grateful for the sacrifices you made for us. For the things you had to forgo just to make sure that all is for the family's best interest.
Thank you! I know it will never be enough, but YOU mean the most to us.

We will always continue to pray that you would be given a healthy and fulfilling years ahead so that you may continue to enjoy your new role as a "doting" lola to Riel.

We love yah, as always!

2. June 20 - Back to school! -- First Day High!

Seeing old and new faces at school is exhilirating! Meeting our Profs for the first time made me more certain of where I want to be in the next year or so. It was a challenging first day of class. But, i can sense that this semester will be a lot tougher and a bit tedious than before.
With positive thinking, determination, time management and some good friends and classmates, i am sure that i will make it!

NOTE: 1st Night out - Dinner at EuroBaker and Videoke.

3. June 21 - Happy Father's Day Papa Polskie!

You have always been the silent type, the reserved one. Admittedly, i have grew found of your genteel nature. Your composure and coolness rises above all adversities that we face. I will forever be your little girl.. the little girl who followed you around, even at work! I think, i got a lot of independence just following you around at work and this made me appreciate you more. Thanks Pa!

I hope that you continue to be a great father and that you take care of your health! Less the vices and more health conscious activities..

Cheers! to all these great celebrations...

Independence Day

It's a holiday today and spells "No Work"!

Since, its quite gloomy today, I've decided to spend the rest of the day at home sleeping. A lot has happened lately. I feel like things are just so fast that i can barely catch up with my breath and keep up with the changes around me. Don't get me wrong, i like keeping my self busy but what I am worried most is that, I keep on forgetting and misplacing things. Clumsy, I know. Perhaps, i just want to forget bits and pieces...
Just a couple of weeks ago, a friend (from way back) has found me through FB. With what I am going thru at this point, I am happy that this friend has kept me company with my blackout days..
They say, take it easy and so I will.

What keeps me smiling these days? I am certain that there a few on my list. Hopefully, it will all be better.

P.S.
Phil. Independence Day
Another day to think about what our country has achieved all through out these times.
We need change and we need it now. We need to move, move as one to achieve PROGRESS!

With File Extension SRT, you can never go wrong!

I have always been a fan of foreign films and I can truly appreciate the films more , if subtitles are provided. Upon browsing this site, http://www.fileextensionsrt.net/, I had more appreciation of the software, File Extension SRT.

The website provided information of what File Extension SRT is all about. With much interest, I learned that subtitle files in File Extension SRT are in formats that are universally read and contain alphanumerics. More often, there are chances wherein this subtitle files are lostwhen transferred over the net and the result of which is data loss. Worst is that is when retrieving these data. There are numerous and complex uses for SRT files such as holding data referencing different stars and other planetary or astronomical objects for Skymap software. Others are for maintaining sky charting and mapping software.

With File Extension SRT, you can be sure that this particular software package is updated and provides users with information with accurate description of the file and how it’s used by its parent program. With File Extension SRT, you can never go wrong!

in times of weakness

Things are all in a blur at this time. I’m always in a rush and it seems that I hate to even stop and think about things. I am constantly on my toes (not just in Work or school) but mostly, I feel that I am in a hurry! I don’t want to even entertain the thought that “it bugs” me out. It shouldn’t be a problem since I am all loaded for the next six months on both work and school stuff. It shouldn’t be much of a burden since I barely have the time to think about myself these days. It shouldn’t be a problem but I guess there's no denying that my unconscentious action may have troubled other people. I need this not just to forget but to start anew and be back to my old self..

Time will never stand still. Changes are bound to happen and eventually, when all things are in its place, it will be better.
It will all get better!

Easy and Reliable: File Extension SAV

I am constantly on the net for research works and is quite familiar with SPSS program. More often, I try to make use of SPSS in checking variances and for hypothesis testing. I was amazed because I never had a hard time with the program. Easy, reliable and saving the data is much a breeze.

As I surfed the net, I came across the website http://www.fileextensionsav.net/. I am not a full blast tech-savvy so I decided to browse thru the site. I was amazed about what File Extension SAV is. I became more and more curious and I learned that File Extension SAV is not just your typical computer program/driver but essentially it makes the user’s life convenient. It serves as a storage unit mostly for PC games. But, there’s more to it than that, it retains any accumulated feature or data during saving of the files.
File Extension SAV is used to store backup, temporary or configuration files making it a a must in every one’s PC. Therefore, increasing its functionality. There are a number of organizations that uses File Extension SAV. They are Daemon Tools Pro Disk Image, Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) PDP-10, Free Download Manager data, Interactive Data Language file, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Wikipedia executable file.

With the years that I have been using SPSS program, I can say that File Extension SAV really works at its best!

Beating the Summer Heat

Summer is one of my fave season of the year not because April happens to be my BDay month but because SUMMER spells Beach, sand, roadtrips and a lot more!

I always look forward to more escapades and exciting activities.
This summer, i had a new learning experience and that is to learn to "kayak".

My groupies and I were looking forward to the HAYAHAY escapade. T'was really refreshing and a timely chillax time specially for me.

Just last week, work got the best of me. We travelled all the way to CDO, Sindangan, Ozamiz, Dapitan and Dipolog for work but it never stopped us from exploring the sights.

Summer 2009 is and will continue to be a delighful escapade for me!

Mama's Day!

This is the time of the Year that Mothers all over the World are honored!
To my Mama Phoebe, Happy Mother's Day!

For the past 26 years, you've been nothing but the source of inspiration to me...

I am nothing without your undying love and concern...
I would not be where I am now if not for your words of wisdom and your support in whatever things i choose to do...
With the strength of character and the goodness of your heart, i will forever be your number 1 supporter..

More Blessings and best of Health!

Beat the Old System: GO Protocolunknown!

Since my work is very much related to research, I am constantly surfing the internet for almost anything that could help me make my work concise and efficient. It saves me a great deal if I find tips and websites on the net about almost anything particularly about computers and managing my files.

More often than not, my PC works so slow and opens files inefficiently. As I was browsing the internet for this problem of mine, I was directed to “Protocolunknown". I browsed their website and was amazed with all the testimonials from its users. I, then readily told our ICT Department about this site and they were also in awe with what “Protocolunknown" can do.

According to our ICT team, “It worked wonders” and saved them a lot of time in scanning our PCs”. With this, we need to be keep our Computer Drivers be up-to-date. Out dated drivers will more likely be the cause of numerous computer breakdowns and errors. Much more, what "Protocol Unknown" does best is that it is not limited to internet problems but may also assist us with lost file extensions. Lost file extension will be a burden when it’s not compatible or readable with the PC that we currently use. Reinstalling the software is the solution but it requires a great amount of time.

“Protocolunknown” is definitely considered a smart software since it can be widely used for all sorts of computer brands. Hassle-free and without the fuss! Another feature is that it recommends the Official driver that should be appropriately used to avoid serious complications on your PCs. You have got to try this remarkable software!

Happy Easter!

Easter eggs are specially decorated eggs given to celebrate the Easter holiday or springtime.
The egg was a symbol of the rebirth of the
earth in Pagan celebrations of spring and was adopted by early Christians as a symbol of the rebirth.

The oldest tradition is to use dyed or painted chicken eggs, but a modern custom is to substitute chocolate eggs, or plastic eggs filled with confectionery such as jelly beans. These eggs are often hidden, allegedly by the Easter Bunny, for children to find on Easter morning. Otherwise, they are generally put in a basket filled with real or artificial straw to resemble a bird's nest.

The egg is seen as symbolic of the grave and life renewed or resurrected by breaking out of it. The red supposedly symbolizes the blood of Christ redeeming the world and human redemption through the blood shed in the sacrifice of the crucifixion. The egg itself is a symbol of resurrection: while being dormant it contains a new life sealed within it.

For Orthodox Christians, the Easter egg is much more than a celebration of the ending of the fast, it is a declaration of the Resurrection of Jesus. Traditionally, Orthodox Easter eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Christ, shed on the Cross, and the hard shell of the egg symbolized the sealed Tomb of Christ—the cracking of which symbolized his resurrection from the dead.

In the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches, Easter eggs are

blessed by the priest at the end of the Paschal Vigil, and distributed to the faithful. Each household also brings an Easter basket to church, filled not only with Easter eggs but also with other Paschal foods such as paskha, kulich or Easter breads, and these are blessed by the priest as well.

During
Paschaltide, in some traditions the Paschal greeting with the Easter egg is even extended to the deceased. On either the second Monday or Tuesday of Pascha, after a memorial service people bring blessed eggs to the cemetery and bring the joyous paschal greeting, "Christ has risen", to their beloved departed

Short but Sweet..

I attended a one day forum in Manila just last week.
Although, i was there for a couple of days, i never had the grand time to shop and even see the sights.
I am way beyond grateful and glad that Yanne and Happy adopted me for a night and that they were gracious in showing me around the Metro. They are absolutely a great hostess (as i call them)!
Manila's Manila and though it seem that time passes by so quickly when you're there, it's always nice to see people rushing about... I did not get the chance to really see the sights but Im glad I did get the time to shop for some goodies and treats via Glorietta and Landmark.
Perhaps, when i get the chance to visit Manila soon (I hope!), I'll go see MOA and try exploring Ocean Park. I terribly regret not going to Greenhills to shop.. My Bad!

NOTE:
I didn't get the chance to take lots of photos! Huhuhuhuh
Next time, i will make sure i cover my Manila escapade...
Manila, Manila... I always will keep coming back to Manila!

I TRY (by Macy Gray)

NOTE:
This song tops my list these days.
I can totally relate to it and i just love it!

Games, changes and fears
When will they go from here
When will they stop
I belive that fate has brought us here
And we should be together babe
But were notI play it off, but Im dreaming of you
And Ill try to keep my cool, but Im feelin'

I try to say goodbye and I choke
Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not here
Goodbye and I chokeI try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not here

I may appear to be free
But Im just a prisoner of your love
And I may seem all right and smile when you leave
But my smiles are just a front
Just a front, heyI play it off, but Im dreaming of you
And Ill try to keep my cool, but Im feelin

I try to say goodbye and I choke
Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not here
Goodbye and I chokeI try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide it, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not here

Here is my confession
May I be your possession
Boy, I need your touch
Your love, kisses and such
With all my might I tryBut this I cant deny
Deny

I play it off, but Im dreaming of you(but Im dreaming of you babe)
And Ill keep my cool, but Im feelin

I try to say goodbye and I choke (yeah)
Try to walk away and I stumble
Though I try to hide, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not near(when you are not near aahh)
Goodbye and I choke (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I try to walk away and I stumble (hey, hey, hey)
Though I try to hide it, its clear (say it lord)
My world crumbles when you are not here

Goodbye and I choke (Im choking)I try to walk away and I stumbe
Though I try to hide it, its clear
My world crumbles when you are not near
(when you are not near, yeah, yeah yeah)Yeah, yeah

beautiful things

summer is fast approaching...
so many things i'd like to do and try... so many sights to see and explore..
smoldering photo ops.beach and sand. road trips. food trips. movie and dvd marathons. endless videoke nights. cafe and acoustic nights.
all these just to get something off my mind...

all i need

it's hard to tell what the truth is about. it may look like i know where im headed yet i am clueless on what really is going on.
i wish that you can just tell me so that i would not have to second guess and over analyze things.
i just want an honest answer and that's all i need.

Why does it always rain on me?

The weather conditions are rather bizarre lately. At first, it’s dead hot and the next thing you know, it starts to drizzle. Unexpected downpours in the metro always get me down especially if I’m out of the house. It can be a real downer when the rain causes much traffic. What's even worse is that Public transportations can be very tricky. And you have to constantly rub elbows with some other passengers just to secure a seat. Taking a cab can be stressful since Non-airconditioned taxis are hard to find and those that are mostly available are air-conditioned cabs which are undeniably an expensive means of transportation.

To make the matter terrible is that Davao is literally submerged in water (which causes traffic all over the metro)! Try treading the streets of San Pedro, Quirino and along Gmall to understand the floodmania occurrence. And while treading these streets, try singing the song; “why does it always rain on me?” and this will surely make you want to just curl up in bed and wish that you were stuck at home instead!

Whenever it starts to rain unexpectedly, I instantly think of Climate Change and it reverts me back to my environmental science days. Whenever it starts to rain, I ask myself, “Where are the good old days where the sun bragged about its eternal sunshine?”

Are rainy days here to stay? I hope not!

Interview with the....

Feb 20, 2009

The date set for scheduled interview with the bosses.
There were 4 of us who were in the grilling list.
As the clock striked 4PM, i began to feel uneasy. My hands were clammy and my heart started to beat irregularly. I always thought that i would be fine and that I was a bit used to meeting them but i was wrong. I was the first one on the list and it was nothing i expected it to be. They were actually in a good mood but i knew for a fact that they meant serious business.

The interview only took about 15 minutes. It was the longest 15 min interview of my life!
It was a great relief on my part when they offered their congratulations at the end of my interview. It will be the start of something new and exciting. Hopefully, something that is worth all this wait!

still feeling lost..

I haven't decided about what to do yet. If only things were simplier, then i would not be in such difficult position. Just the other day, i tried writing down the advantages and disadvantages of my options but it was not that successful. If i were to stay, i would have to endure a lot of things.

Scrutiny, pressure, proving my worthiness, revisions of work and the whole sheeebang... I am willing to learn but the point of the matter is, am i waiting in vain for a promise that will never happen? Are my efforts lost or am i just another statistics?

the Heart of the matter....

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

An alternative theory from Belarus states that the holiday originates from the story of Saint Valentine, who upon rejection by his mistress was so heartbroken that he took a knife to his chest and sent her his still-beating heart as a token of his undying love for her. Hence, heart-shaped cards are now sent as a tribute to his overwhelming passion and suffering.
The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th-century America was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States.

The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest

Different Types of Chocolates

Several types of chocolate can be distinguished. Pure, unsweetened chocolate contains primarily cocoa solids and cocoa butter in varying proportions. Much of the chocolate consumed today is in the form of sweet chocolate, combining chocolate with sugar. Milk chocolate is sweet chocolate that additionally contains milk powder or condensed milk. "White chocolate" contains cocoa butter, sugar, and milk but no cocoa solids. Chocolate contains alkaloids such as theobromine and phenethylamine, which have some physiological effects in humans, but the presence of theobromine renders it toxic to some animals, such as dogs and cats. It has been linked to serotonin levels in the brain. Dark chocolate has recently been promoted for its health benefits, as it seems to possess substantial amount of antioxidants that reduce the formation of free radicals.

Alongside milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate are also common chocolate varieties.
White chocolate is formed from a mixture of sugar, cocoa butter, and milk solids. Although its texture is similar to milk and dark chocolate, it does not contain any cocoa solids. Because of this, many countries do not consider white chocolate as chocolate at all. Although first introduced by Hebert Candies in 1955, Mars, Incorporated was the first to produce white chocolate within the United States. Because it does not contain any cocoa solids, white chocolate does not contain any theobromine, meaning it can be consumed by animals.

Dark chocolate is produced by adding fat and sugar to the cacao mixture. The U.S. Government calls this "sweet chocolate", and requires a 15% concentration of chocolate liquor. European rules specify a minimum of 35% cocoa solids. Dark chocolate, with its high cocoa content, is a rich source of the flavonoids epicatechin and gallic acid, which are thought to possess cardioprotective properties. Dark chocolate has also been said to reduce the possibility of a heart attack when consumed regularly in small amounts. Semisweet chocolate is a dark chocolate with a low sugar content. Bittersweet chocolate is chocolate liquor to which some sugar (typically a third), more cocoa butter, vanilla and sometimes lecithin have been added. It has less sugar and more liquor than semisweet chocolate, but the two are interchangeable in baking.

Unsweetened chocolate is pure chocolate liquor, also known as bitter or baking chocolate. It is unadulterated chocolate: the pure, ground, roasted chocolate beans impart a strong, deep chocolate flavor.

Totally Lost!

I am in a very difficult situation right now. I am confronted with something that could change my life forever. My decision is changing by the moment. And until now, I am too scared to make my choice.

There are times that I want to stay yet there is always this feeling of grabbing the once in a lifetime opportunity.I hope that whatever I choose to do, I will never ever look back with regret. And I hope that God will always be there to enlighten me on which path I should take. To stay or to move forward....

Today, cosmetic surgery has been an increasing trend. As I was searching the internet for a research topic for my graduate paper, I stumbled upon this site which is fascinating to browse. The site, http://www.mya.co.uk/ was very informative to me. And since the topic of my research was about breast augmentation and here's an interesting site about breast augmentation uk. I was curious to see what it really is and the benefits of undergoing the procedure. I learned that the procedure does not only appeal to women with smaller breast size but also includes women who want to achieve that sexier, fuller figure particularly to women who recently gave birth or women who suffered dramatic weight losses.

Breast enlargement or breast augmentation is one of the many cosmetic surgeries that MYA offers. It is also one of the most tried and the safest procedure performed by their highly capable surgeons.

So, what happens when one undergoes breast enlargement / augmentation?
The procedure is performed under general anesthetics and with the supervision of a first-rate surgeon. First, an implant is inserted through a discrete incision made in the natural crease of the breast. Then the surgeon makes a pocket under the breast tissue, or chest muscle to put the implant. After which, the patient will have to stay overnight in the hospital for close monitoring.

The operation and the recovery period is much convenient for those who lead a very busy and active lifestyle. The operation will take around an hour and surprisingly, the recovery period will only be a week in which the stitches and dressing will be removed. Patients are then advised to gradually return to their normal physical activities within 4 – 6 weeks. That’s how safe and simple the procedure is at MYA.

Flexibilty and Great Value Combined.

If your looking for flexibility with great value, then MYA is the answer to your need. They offer an initial free consultation to interested individuals. With MYA, there are no extra, unnecessary costs.

The inclusion of the payment for the Breast enlargement procedure starts with a free initial consultation which includes a personal information pack confirming the time and date of your appointment. And your very own patient coordinator who will be the point contact all throughout the procedure. Next, a free consultation with one of the premier specialist cosmetic surgeon is incorporated. Moreover, the pre-operative medical assessments are made to make certain that the patient is fit and healthy to undergo the surgery. MYA makes use only of the finest breast implants from Allergan, which is considered as the leading innovators when it comes to aesthetics.

The medical procedure will be done at one of the UK’s finest cosmetic surgery hospitals and so you are surely guaranteed of quality medical service. And if there is a need to stay overnight, you will have an en suite room with a 24 hour room service menu, satellite TV and breakfast included. In addition, a comprehensive after care policy which includes all post operative assessments with your surgeon and one of MYA’s qualified nurses is included. the first and the last

It's a saturday night and yet here I am at home. It's quite weird coz Fridays and Saturdays are my usual Chillax nights. I am mentally worn out from the all three grueling Midterm Exams we had earlier the day. It was exhausting not to mention mind draining. All the computations, the variance analysis, down to the to research proposal and the very famous modified True or False were just too much for me.

It was weird taking the midterm exam. It felt like I was transported once again to my college days. I realized that this was all new to me; the unpreparedness to take the exams. Way back in my college days, I'd always come to school prepared and this was the first time I never exerted any effort to study. I hope this is the first and the last!
Perhaps, the lack of time, the work stuff or just the lack of interest to study made me hopeless.. And judging from the faces and comments of my classmates, I am sure that we were all clueless and yes, we have prepared ourselves for the day that the results would be announced. The judgement day! The doomsday!

Anyways, I was suppose to leave for Cebu tomorrow but since I had to report for work on Monday for a Marketing Plan Presentation, I had my tickets rebooked (at a very upsetting price) on a Monday afternoon flight. I will miss the Sinulog festivities, nonetheless, I am excited since a mini reunion of my Cebu buddies will finally happen. I will keep coming back to Cebu and even for a couple of days, I will try to forget about work and school.
